When a no stopping sign (433) is placed on the right side of a two-way highway:

Question illustration
  1. Stopping is prohibited on the right side of the roadway and on the hard shoulder.· Correct answer
  2. Stopping is prohibited on both sides of the road.
  3. Stopping is prohibited on the roadway only.
  4. Stopping is prohibited on the hard shoulder only.

Explanation

Sign 433 (no stopping and no parking) applies to the entire side of the road on which it is placed - both the roadway itself and the shoulder. On a non-urban road, the shoulder is an integral part of the prohibited area. The prohibition does not apply to the other side of the road.

How to approach it
