  1. You are forbidden to cross the lines. However, a vehicle from the opposite direction is permitted to cross them when the road is clear.· Correct answer

  3. You are permitted to cross the lines. However, vehicle traffic from the opposite direction has right of way.
  4. You are permitted to cross the lines because the driver has right of way.

Explanation

When a continuous line is on your side (left) and a broken line on the opposite side, you are prohibited from crossing the lines. The vehicle traveling from the opposite direction sees the broken line on its side and may therefore cross when the road is clear. The rule: the line nearest you is what counts.

How to approach it

The line on your side determines - continuous = prohibited, broken = permitted
